Esta filial do Restaurante “Tao” embaixo do Hotel Maritime em NY, já está aberta há vários anos. Esta semana resolvi voltar lá com uns amigos de Belo Horizonte. Nos divertimos muito e, sempre que vou lá, encontro brasileiros jantando ou, no lounge. Eu recomendo este restaurante por ser super diferente da norma – um tanto divertido. Na entrada, você passa por um corredor de painéis de madeira, que parece uma caverna, que te leva no andar do bar e lounge. Aqui você tem a vista do salão de jantar que acomoda 400 pessoas, com vários niveis, e no fundo, uma estátua da Deusa budista Quan Yin, iluminada com uma tecnologia de projeção de luz muito dinâmica. A iluminação dos ambientes é tipo a vela, romântica. O bar é muito lindo. O ambiente esta sempre muito animado. (Aproveitei fazer estas fotos na saída, quando o restaurante já estava fechando, às 2h da manhã). Aconselho fazer reservas com bastante antecedência.

Last week, I returned to Tao Downtown Restaurant with friends. We had a great time and were the last ones to live the place. Tao’s bright red entrance way peeks out from below the Maritime Hotel, and behind its doors, a wood-paneled cave awaits. It’s a lot to take in, but feels almost subtle when compared with the 400-person bi-level dining room, which features a humongous statue of the Buddhist goddess Quan Yin drenched in an aquatic light show with projection-mapping technology. Both the bar and lounges were packed with people, and by the time we left – 2am, the place had already quiet down. Advanced reservations is always suggested.

Rink de Patinação do Rockefeller Plaza

A árvore de Natal do Rockefeller Center é um símbolo mundial de Natal em Nova York. Esta é uma parada official na cidade. Aqui, o caminho com os anjos iluminados, anunciando a chegada das festas de natal. A árvore permanecerá aqui até 20:00h do dia 07 de janeiro de 2015. O segredo desta foto e que foi tirada as 6:00h da manhã, enquanto a cidade ainda esta dormindo. Alias, o “The Rink” no Rockefeller oferece um esquema muito legal – Patinação no Primeiro turno do dia, as 7 da manhã. Ótimo para quem curte patinar no gelo, ou mesmo, pelo exercício revigorante ao amanhecer, ou como uma opção para os que não sabem patinar bem. A pista esta vazia, gelo lisinho, e,  com o aluguel do patins incluem um café da manhã continental. Vale a pena sair da cama cedo, voce não vai se arrepender.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a world-wide symbol of the holidays in New York City. Here is the path, filled with lighted angels announcing the holidays, leading up to the glistening giant tree The Tree will remain lit and can be viewed until 8pm on January 7th, 2015.
The best think about these pictures — taken just before sunrise. Yes, THE RINK has a special deal to skate on the First Skate session of the day, and they included a continental breakfast to the price of the skate rental. It is worth getting out of the bed before everyone else. The rink is empty, you will get the best selfies near the tree, and, it is a healthy and invigorating spin to start your day on a happy note. You won’t forget this amazing experience.
