Big Clay #4, a monumental sculpture by Urs Fisher was recently installed on the plaza of the Seagram Building. The installation will remain at this location from May 11 to Sept 1st, 2015. This curving, stack tower is derived from manipulated scraps of clay that was squeezed and later scanned and digitally enlarged. The enlarged image was cast in aluminum, forming a tower 12 1/2 foot tall. Its silver surface shows all the original markings and digital impressions of the artist, preserved as a striated curves. Urs Fisher was born in Zurich and lives and works in New York City. His work is present in several private and public important collections internationally.
